San Francisco Part III: Muir Woods

Day three we hiked Muir Woods. A hostel employee was kind enough to sit down with us and give us the 411 on which buses to take and which transfers to catch. Instead of starting at the bottom at the park's official entrance, we took a bus to the top to bypass the entrance fee. We broke. The views were breathtaking and the trees humongous!

On our voyage back to the hostel a beautiful sunset illuminated the city.

San Francisco Part II: Haight

Day two we hit Haight Street and then the Financial District to shop. Haight is amazing! It's super artsy with a smoke shop on every block. Seriously, every block. We had substantial success at Buffalo Exchange, maybe a little too much... I purchased an American Apparel crop top, cropped jean jacket and a Star Wars tee. Then we rolled over to Wasteland. We stopped in People's Cafe for a tasty lunch before heading over to the Financial District.

San Francisco Part I

It's been weeks since I got back from San Francisco with my girls. I'm finally starting the trip posts process. The first four nights we stayed at the Green Tortoise Hostel on Broadway. It was definitely the best experience of the trip! Helping make dinner on our first night, we made friends with fellow Americans and internationals. All of the hostel staff were very friendly and wonderfully helpful. Although it was surrounded by questionable neighbors, it was located in the perfect spot: in between China Town and North Beach. After the Green Tortoise, we crashed with a friend at the Palace, a gorgeous historic hotel in the Financial District. I didn't dress up everyday. Come on. A girl's feet need a break, i.e. athletic tights and tennis shoes. Storage space was limited at the hostel and transporting our luggage from the hostel to the hotel by public transportation required light packing. Therefore, my outfits were composed of simple, comfortable pieces. I watched Amy's video on the different methods to optimize suitcase space on the Fashion Statement before leaving.

On our walk down from Coit Tower, we game across this neighborhood built into Telegraph Hill. The foliage was amazing and the trees were filled with talkative parrots.
